Your Questions, Answered
How It Works
We know container homes can feel unfamiliar at first. This page walks you through exactly what to expect — step by step — so you can move forward with confidence.
Do You Have a Place for It to Go?
The first thing we ask every customer is simple: do you already have land in mind? Your answer shapes everything from timeline to what options make the most sense for you.
Select what applies to you:
What's Your Timeline?
Your timeline is the biggest factor in deciding between an available inventory unit or a fully custom build.
What Does It Cost?
Pricing comes down to two things: the size of the unit and what you're adding to it. Here's a simple breakdown.
20 ft Container
~$20,000 – $30,000+~160 sq ft
40 ft Container
Upper $60,000s – Upper $70,000s~320 sq ft
53 ft Container
$70,000 – $80,000+~450 sq ft
What Else Should You Budget For?
Beyond the unit itself, there are a few additional costs most customers plan for.
Shipping
Approximately $4 per mile from our yard to your site.
Crane Rental
A crane is needed to offload and set the container on your site. This is typically arranged locally.
Foundation
We recommend concrete piers — more affordable than a full slab and actually the preferred method for container homes.

Who Handles Site Prep?
You have two options here.
You handle it yourself
Many customers coordinate their own site prep — clearing, grading, and setting piers with a local contractor. This is a great option if you already have relationships with local trades.
We can help with that too
We're happy to assist with site readiness. We do charge for a site visit, but if you'd rather hand that off entirely, we can coordinate it. Just let us know when you reach out.
How Do Customers Pay?
There are a few common paths our customers take.
Cash
Straightforward and the simplest option — no lender, no approval process.
Financing Partners
We work with financing partners who specialize in container and modular builds. Ask us about current options.
Local Bank or Credit Union
Many customers have success financing through their local bank or credit union using a personal loan or construction loan.
Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC)
If you have equity in an existing property, a HELOC can be an excellent low-rate option.
